Passengers on Roadways bus attacked, robbed
ALIGARH: Passengers on an Agra-bound Roadways bus were in for a shock after men who boarded the bus as passengers attacked and robbed them late on Saturday night on NH 93. Now investigators have suspected the role of the conductor in the incident.
The bus left Moradabad for Agra and was attacked at Hathras. The robbers, took over the bus and allegedly assaulted the driver, Harmad Singh, after which one of the robbers drove the vehicle while the others robbed the passengers, also taking away their mobiles so that no calls could be made.
“We left from Moradabad for Agra, and some passengers boarded the bus on the way.

Farther along, they attacked us with the butts of their guns and took over the bus. They then got off and left. We were 2.5 km from the nearest police patrol,” said conductor Ram Veer Singh.
A case has been registered against unknown persons under relevant sections of the IPC at Chandpa police station. Investigators are examining the role of the conductor after passengers complained that while everyone else was robbed, his bag was left untouched. Police called the conductor and the driver for questioning, but the two did not turn up.
SP Hathras Ajay Pal Sharma said, “We are investigating the case. The statements of both the driver and conductor will be recorded.”
